Nutty, irresistible, and chewy. These tasty blondies feature our sweet Bourbon Pecans and a decadent brown butter cream cheese frosting that's infused with maple syrup and a splash of bourbon. Serve them at your next party and pair with your favorite whiskey cocktail.


For the Dough:
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar, lightly packed
  • 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup Santé Bourbon Pecans, roughly chopped
For the Whiskey Maple Cream Cheese Frosting:
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 1 (8 ounce) package of cream cheese, room temperature
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon bourbon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1/4 cup Santé Bourbon Pecans (for topping)


For the blondies:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350° F. Butter an 8"x8" baking dish. Set aside.
  2. To brown the butter, add butter to a small saucepan over medium heat and cook 5-7 minutes, stirring often. The butter will start to bubble and brown. Continue stirring and scraping the bottom of the saucepan so that it doesn't burn. The butter is complete when it has a nutty fragrance and darkens to a caramel color. Set aside to cool.
  3. In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, salt, and baking powder. Set aside.
  4. In a separate bowl, add the browned butter, brown sugar, granulated sugar, egg, yolk, and vanilla. Whisk to combine.
  5. Add the dry ingredients to the butter and sugar mixture. Stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
  6. Fold in the chopped pecans until evenly incorporated.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes. Allow to cool completely before frosting.

For the frosting:

  1. In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with a paddle attachment, combine the cream cheese, butter, and powdered sugar. Begin mixing on the lowest speed until the powdered sugar is incorporated. Gradually increase the speed to medium-high. Mix until smooth and well-combined.
  2. Add maple syrup, bourbon, vanilla extract, and salt. Mix until fully combined with the cream cheese.
  3. Spread the icing evenly across the blondies. Sprinkle the top with whole of chopped Bourbon Pecans. Cut into squares and serve.
